Every spring, after the snow melts to reveal an entire winter's worth of detritus, neighbours come together to help spruce up the Republic for the warmer months, cleaning up the Pump Park, laneways, and parkettes.
It's a great opportunity for any high school students in the neighbourhood to earn some of their required community service hours - RARA is happy to sign forms for any students who participate.
Bring your rakes, gloves, and an industrious spirit and RARA will supply the leaf bags, trash bags, coffee and donuts. Dog owners are especially encouraged to join us to help with the 💩!
Special thanks to Pym Buitenhaus, our resident historian and annual SCU coordinator! Thanks also to everyone who joined us for the 2019 clean up - the mountain of garden bags pilled up at Hardy’s Corner attests to the industrious nature of the 40+ residents who came out to help ready the Republic for Spring!
